A current study released by IDC concerning the dissemination of cloud computing in German companies proves what DARZ has already sermonised for some time. As laid down, the dissemination of cloud technology has strongly advanced, independent of both size and kind of company as well as interdepartmentally. In this connection, a cloud can no longer be considered a niche product and thankfully, all persisting prejudices dissolve in the cloud, especially about security lacks or performance. It found that for the first time after specialists dealt with possible impediments, less than half of the respondents cited security risks for not using the cloud.
The Technical and Economic Sides Match
Meanwhile, almost one company in five has implemented at least one cloud project per division and these often serve as role model for further projects. Fifteen percent of these companies use the clouds within a “Cloud First Strategy”. By now, more than 40 percent of all German companies have arrived at the cloud i.e. cloud computing is no longer a marginal phenomenon but a genuine growth driver. The investment volumes into cloud technology prove that it has become a significant economic factor. The IDC found out that the investment volumes in Western Europe increased by 27 percent to a total of 37 billion US-Dollars within the last twelve months. In detail, 17.7 billion Dollars account for the means of using private cloud services. It remains to be noted, though, that the market of public cloud services is growing twice as fast as that of private cloud services.
Trend Topic Multi Cloud Sourcing
The study also shows that even today the IT-department is still the main user for cloud computing services followed by sales (30 percent), logistics, marketing, production, customer service, financing as well as research and development. When transitioning the cloud project, there is an encouraging trend that companies turn to partners who give advice and implement the transition for them. Full-IT service providers like DARZ do a good job as 71 percent of the interviewed customers think that their requirements have been fully or partially met. As trend elements of the discussion around cloud computing, IDC identified topics such as Industrial Cloud or Multi Cloud Sourcing. With respect to Multi Cloud Sourcing, there is evidence that much is said but hardly anything is done – as the use of various public cloud offers do not seem to work in operation. DARZ renounces that with the development of the first hybrid cloud. It thus proves that it is nowadays relatively simple to implement the concept of a hybrid cloud platform with one central data base making the Multi Cloud Sourcing effective and performant.
