In 2017, one in every two companies wants to provide virtual IT jobs from the public cloud as reported in the IDC study “Advanced Workplace Strategies in Deutschland 2016.” It’s no wonder because an increasing number of employees – especially from Generation Y – want their workplaces to be “any place, any time.” Many companies are therefore focusing on networked activities. Since so far only 52 percent of those surveyed have necessary applications with access that is not dependent on the device used, this calls for immediate action. Access to company applications from every device plays a decisive role in employee productivity.
Cloud Services from a Single Source
Innovative solutions are necessary to support this. One way to ensure a continual user experience is to make use of virtual devices and apps. Many mid-sized companies were rather critical when it came to the Desktop as a Service (DaaS) model, but now they have dismissed their reservations. One in every three of those surveyed for the IDC study, for example, wants to move virtual IT workplaces to the public cloud. We are also pursuing a data-centric service approach in order to generate the maximum value from data and flexible services. We offer our clients cloud services from a single source with various service levels. Our clients thereby benefit from complete data mobility in the areas of private cloud, public cloud, and colocation. They receive strong security and comprehensive control of their data in a private cloud while also enjoying the flexibility, scalability, and cost-efficiency of a public cloud.
Modernizing the IT Workplace
The IDC study shows that the importance of a networked business has long since been recognized and applied in everyday working life. In this process, mobile and stationary technologies are increasingly merging. Besides a cultural change, strategic data management is the basis for such flexible concepts of work. If you once again look at Gartner’s hype cycle, it immediately becomes clear that all technologies in the hype stage are based on data analysis and processing. Not only users but also those responsible for IT areas view the modernization of the IT workplace as an important field for action. What is more: for many IT managers, the workplace of the future is an important element of digital transformation, as it ensures more flexibility for employees and lower costs for businesses.
