Colocation: Capacity and Performance

In order to be able to optimally implement IT-based business models with the support of Colocation and Housing, they must utilize the latest infrastructure. In our sustainable and efficient high-security data center, we offer individual, modular and scalable services for colocation with rack and footprint, cage or private room. DARZ covers the high quality and availability requirements of a Tier III+ data center and offers the possibility to implement different fire sections or Dual Data Center concepts without hang-ups. All services are modular and can be easily combined with other Data Centric Services.

Racks at DARZ

Our racks with 47 height units have a fully redundant and crossover-free power supply and data cabling. The data centers of Internet providers and carriers also run fully redundantly and without intersection to their separate feed points (HUBs). For maximum energy efficiency, our racks are air-conditioned with a cold aisle containment. We ensure consumption-optimized billing via calibrated electricity meters. In addition, we ensure the highest scalability of up to 1,000 racks and over 5MW of power. The installation of high-power racks of 25kW and more is also possible with dedicated reserves in the cooling system and provided water cooling facilities.

Caging at DARZ

Besides the modern form of colocation by racks, there is also the option of using colocation by square meters. In this context, you have the option to use caging, which is the use of a grid fence to build your own security zone around your own IT. It is operated within a fire section and a shared data center space.

Private Room at DARZ

A Private Room is a tailored solution for individual requirements. The finished area is equipped according to customer demands. As a separate fire protection and control section, a Private Room meets the most stringent security and data protection requirements. Regardless of size, we can construct a private room within two to three months according to individual conditions. Customers can choose from eleven Private Room modules of different sizes in different fire sections.

Our vault

For the highest security requirements, you can operate colocation in the former vault of the Hesse Central Bank. In this case, your data is protected behind a ten-ton steel door (9 metric tons) and cannot be accessed by anybody other than the authorized person.

Dual Data Center Colocation

Solutions for mirrored data centers must meet the highest security and high availability requirements. DARZ maintains partnerships with data centers in Frankfurt (Global Switch, Equinix, Telehouse, Interxion and e-shelter) in order to achieve this. This means that the entire service portfolio of DARZ is also available at local and global locations.
The distance of 20 miles (30 kilometers) to Frankfurt’s data centers makes it possible to implement cost-effective synchronously mirrored storage systems without caching. The ideal redundant, crossover-free and edge-free connection ensures the lowest latencies. In addition, the 20-mile distance ensures that this solution is compliant with Basel III and the Luxembourg Ordinance (on prescribed distances between sites in different earthquake, flood and storm zones).
For data backup as well as outsourcing and archiving, models are possible with the inclusion of a third data center or, alternatively, in the DARZ nuclear bunker.
Our IT services are available in all partner data centers. Managed services are also possible as a high-security solution, such as IaaS synchronized across two data centers.
