CYOD – Choose Your Own Device

“Choose Your Own Device” (CYOD) is a kind of device usage within a company. In this form, employees choose their devices from a list that includes all devices which were bought, provided and maintained by the company before. For companies, the advantage of this approach can be found in it determining the devices and operating systems are integrated in the company network. In parts, this might lead to staff falling back to their own devices – a shadow-IT is created.
