Data Deduplication

Within data deduplication, large compare windows are used to find redundant Byte-sequences. Data sequences with more than 8 Kilobyte are compared to the history data versions of other such sequences followed by the creation of references to the first assigned memory. There is no full storage taking place. This process runs in the background, neither user nor operator observe anything. From the point of its creation, the entire file is readable.
