Round Trip Delay (RTD)-Latency

The RTD-latency – RTD standing for round trip delay – names the reaction time of a complete network. Different names are “Round Trip Time” (RTT) or ping time. It describes the period that is needed to send a signal from one source to a recipient over the internet and to return the answer of the recipient back to the sender – also via internet. RTD-latency calculates for some routing algorithms the optimum route.
